About SESX files
A .SESX file is an Adobe Audition multitrack session file. It stores project data such as track layouts, volume automation, effect configurations, and file paths to original audio recordings. These files are exclusively opened and managed using Adobe Audition. Users often need to convert this file because it requires an expensive monthly Adobe subscription to open. The format is heavily tied to the Adobe ecosystem and is not supported by standard web browsers or media players. Furthermore, .SESX files do not contain actual sound data. If you move the project to another computer without the linked WAV or MP3 files, the session breaks completely and displays missing media errors. The best conversion targets for migrating a project to another digital audio workstation (like Pro Tools or Logic) are OMF or XML (Final Cut Pro XML). To get a playable music file, the session must be mixed down to WAV or MP3, which removes editability but guarantees playback.
