Developed by Nevrona Designs, these files store visual report layouts, database connection settings, and data processing rules used by Delphi and C++Builder developers. Secondary uses include interactive pen audio files for Ravensburger Tiptoi toys, government evaluation reports for the Brazilian Court of Accounts (internally ZIP archives), and RIFF audio for Bratz video games.
Users usually need to convert .RAV files because they lack the specific reporting software to open them. The Rave Reports format is highly proprietary and depends heavily on the original database environment it was built for. Without a Delphi application or the original Rave Reports designer, viewing the compiled report is nearly impossible.
