The .HFP file extension primarily represents a HitFilm Project File (86% of cases) used by the video editing and VFX software HitFilm. A secondary use is for HueForge Project Files (6% of cases), used in the HueForge 3D printing software for filament color blending. These are project files, meaning they act as instruction manuals for the software rather than holding actual standalone media.
A major disadvantage of the .HFP format is its strict dependency on the original software. Users frequently try to convert an .HFP file directly to an MP4 video or an STL 3D model online.
