A .qxl file is most frequently (91%) a proprietary data record generated by Sysmex XN-Series automated hematology analyzers. These files store critical patient diagnostics, including scattergrams, histograms, and numerical blood count data (CBC) processed by the analyzer's Information Processing Unit (IPU). Because this format is strictly industrial and binary-encoded for medical compliance, it cannot be opened by standard text editors or spreadsheet software like Microsoft Excel.
