Extract text from QlikView documents (QVP)

The .qvp file extension is most commonly associated with QlikView, an enterprise business intelligence software developed by Qlik. In this ecosystem, the file stores data visualizations, interactive dashboards, and connection metadata. Another major use case is the Oracle User Productivity Kit (UPK), where .qvp files act as user productivity training packages. The Oracle UPK variant is structurally a compressed archive based on the standard ZIP format. A very small percentage of these files are also used as ViewletBuilder Project Files by Qarbon.
Both main formats are highly proprietary and present distinct challenges. You cannot open a QlikView document in standard web browsers, and reading the file usually requires an expensive enterprise license. Data locked inside a QlikView file is inaccessible to stakeholders without the software. Similarly, Oracle UPK files restrict training content to Oracle's specialized legacy environments.
When converting these files, your targets depend on the source. For QlikView documents, users typically need to export dashboards to PDF for reporting, or extract raw data tables to CSV or XLSX. For Oracle UPK packages, the best workaround is to rename the file extension to ZIP to extract internal media and XML files.
