To convert other file formats to the "Interactive Fiction" file type, you need software like Quest Soft Player or a similar tool.
About QSP files
The .QSP extension primarily indicates a compiled game file designed for the Quest Soft Player platform. These are Interactive Fiction (IF) or text-based adventure games, popular in the Russian indie scene and adult gaming communities (similar to Ren'Py). Unlike standard media files, a .QSP file contains compiled code, logic, text, and references to assets; you cannot simply "convert" it to MP4 or PDF because it requires an interpreter to handle user choices and variables.
A major issue is that .QSP is a binary format - it is not human-readable in a text editor like Notepad. To play these games, you must use a specialized interpreter like QSP Player (available for Windows, Linux, and Android). For developers, these files can be "decompiled" back to .QSRC or .QSPS (source text) using CLI tools, allowing for translation or modding.
In rare industrial contexts (approx. 3%), a .QSP file may be a compressed project file associated with Schneider Electric software or QSetup. These are often standard ZIP containers in disguise. If you are dealing with an industrial file, changing the extension to ZIP usually allows you to inspect the internal XML data and assets without specialized software.
Convert.Guru analyzes your QSP file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.
If you want to convert QSP file to EXE, ISO, BIN, CUE, PAK, WAD, PK3, PK4, BSP, MAP, SAV or DAT, you can use Quest Soft Player or similar software from the "Text-based Adventure Game" category. In the File menu, look for Save As… or Export….
To convert MOD, BIN, CFG, SCX, DAT, MPQ, LOG, CUE, INI, EXE, SCM or ISO files to QSP, try Quest Soft Player or another comparable tool in the "Text-based Adventure Game" category.
The QSP Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our QSP converter.
