Convert a file to QSP
To convert other file formats to the "Text Adventure Game File" file type, you need software like QSP Player or a similar tool.
About QSP files
The .QSP file extension primarily represents a Quest Soft Player game file. These files store text-based adventure games, commonly known as interactive fiction, containing storylines, character dialogs, and embedded game logic. A secondary, entirely unrelated use (accounting for approximately 3% of files) is for electrical installation projects created by Schneider Electric.
The main disadvantage of the .QSP format is its heavily proprietary and fragmented nature. The game files require the specific, niche QSP Player software to execute the interactive narrative. They cannot be natively read by standard text editors, web browsers, or modern mobile devices, forcing users to download unfamiliar third-party software just to read a text adventure. Conversely, the Schneider Electric variant restricts engineering data to an expensive, specialized enterprise software ecosystem, creating vendor lock-in.
Standard online converters routinely fail to process .QSP files because the format lacks a universal standard. Game files contain compiled script logic rather than sequential text, while project files are essentially renamed ZIP archives holding proprietary electrical schematics. Attempting to convert a game directly to standard document formats like PDF or DOCX often results in broken logic, missing variables, and unreadable formatting.
This file format is difficult to open or convert because only the original software can properly parse the unique data structures. However, you do not have to remain locked out.
Convert.Guru analyzes your QSP file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.

The QSP Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our QSP converter.
