To convert other file formats to the "Scientific Graph Plot" file type, you need software like KaleidaGraph or a similar tool.
About QPC files
A .QPC file is a proprietary scientific plot or graph composition file, predominantly associated with KaleidaGraph by Synergy Software or instrumentation software from Quantum Design. These files store the visual layout, axis definitions, and style settings for complex scientific data visualizations.
The main limitation for users is the vendor lock-in: a .QPC file created in KaleidaGraph cannot be natively opened in standard tools like Microsoft Excel or web browsers, and it often requires the exact version of the original software to render correctly. Furthermore, legacy .QPC files from older Quantum Design instruments may be incompatible with modern analysis suites like QtiPlot or Origin.
For publication and collaboration, the pragmatic solution is converting these proprietary plots into standard formats. For preserving the vector scalability of graphs for journals/print, convert to PDF or SVG. For quick sharing on the web or within presentation slides, convert to raster images like PNG or JPG. If you need to recover the underlying numbers, you are often better off locating the source data file (often DAT or CSV) rather than trying to extract it from the .QPC plot definition.
Convert.Guru analyzes your QPC file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.

The QPC Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our QPC converter.
