About QDA files

The .qda file extension is primarily associated with QtiPlot, a software application used for scientific data analysis and visualization. These files act as comprehensive project containers, storing not just the raw numerical datasets (matrices and tables), but also the associated 2D/3D graphs, plot layers, and analysis history. While powerful for active research, the .qda format presents significant challenges for collaboration and archiving. It is a proprietary binary or XML-based format that requires the specific QtiPlot software - which has shifted from open-source to a paid commercial license - to open or edit. This creates a "vendor lock-in" scenario where valuable experimental data becomes inaccessible without the correct software version. Furthermore, .qda files are not supported by standard office suites or web browsers, making them impossible to preview in emails or cloud storage. To ensure long-term data accessibility and ease of sharing, it is highly recommended to convert the underlying data tables to CSV or Microsoft Excel (.XLSX) formats, and the visual plots to PDF or standard image formats like PNG or SVG.

Convert.Guru analyzes your QDA file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.

Users also converted QLT, QSC and QPC files.
