About PVX files
A .PVX file primarily functions as a drive engineering parameter archive utilized by SEW-EURODRIVE MOVITOOLS MotionStudio. Under the hood, these files are standard ZIP archives containing configuration data for industrial motor drives, inverters, and control systems. Alternatively, .PVX files act as compiled business application binaries in Sage Pro ERP powered by the ProvideX programming language, or as 3D-XplorMath program files.
To manage industrial motor variants, technicians rely on MOVITOOLS MotionStudio. Legacy accounting and inventory systems use the ProvideX interpreter to execute the ERP binaries. The primary disadvantage of a .PVX file is its proprietary application lock-in. For engineering data, you cannot view the raw drive parameters without installing heavy, specialized Windows-only software. If the file is a compiled ProvideX script, the code is a completely unreadable binary without proprietary decompilation tools, creating massive vendor lock-in for legacy business data.
Because the SEW-EURODRIVE variant is essentially a renamed archive, you can easily bypass these limits. For auditing or web use, convert .PVX to ZIP to access the inner payload, then convert those internal configurations to XML, CSV, or TXT. Just drag and drop your file here to analyze its exact structure and convert it securely right in your browser.
Convert.Guru analyzes your PVX file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.
If you want to convert PVX file to MP4, AVI, MOV, WMV, FLV, WEBM, MKV, M4V, 3GP, OGV, ASF or RM, you can use MOVITOOLS MotionStudio or similar software from the "Drive Engineering Parameter Storage" category. In the File menu, look for Save As… or Export….
To convert MTS, MOV, RMVB, DIVX, RM, H264, TS, WMV, VOB, MP4, XVID or AVI files to PVX, try MOVITOOLS MotionStudio or another comparable tool in the "Drive Engineering Parameter Storage" category.
The PVX Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our PVX converter.
