Convert PVP to another file type
To convert PVP data files to another format, you need PTC Creo or other Data software.
Convert a file to PVP
To convert other file formats to the "Engineering Data Package" file type, you need software like PTC Creo or a similar tool.
About PVP files
A .PVP file typically serves as either a Suspension Dynamometer Data file created by Roehrig Engineering equipment, or a ProductView visualization package used in PTC Creo and Windchill ecosystems. Other distinct uses include pavement profile projects in ProVAL, plugin files for PDF-XChange Editor, and game voice data packages for the Overlord video game series.
Users often need to convert .PVP files to share shock absorber performance data or 3D CAD visualization models with clients or colleagues who do not own these expensive, highly specialized software licenses. The major disadvantage of the .PVP format is its proprietary lock-in. For example, Roehrig files use a complex internal Microsoft Compound file structure, while PTC files securely encapsulate 3D metadata. Because these formats are closed and proprietary, they are difficult to open or convert, and standard online tools will typically fail to process them. Often, only the original authoring software can properly read the file and export the data to universal target formats like CSV (for data) or STEP and PDF (for 3D models and reports). If our analysis detects a supported underlying or embedded format - such as a ZIP container commonly used in ProVAL projects - viewing or extraction may still be possible.
Convert.Guru analyzes your PVP file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.
If you want to convert PVP file to EXE, ISO, BIN, CUE, PAK, WAD, PK3, PK4, BSP, MAP, SAV or DAT, you can use PTC Creo or similar software from the "Engineering Data & 3D Visualization" category. In the File menu, look for Save As… or Export….
To convert MOD, BIN, CFG, SCX, DAT, MPQ, LOG, CUE, INI, EXE, SCM or ISO files to PVP, try PTC Creo or another comparable tool in the "Engineering Data & 3D Visualization" category.
The PVP Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our PVP converter.
