Convert TDR to another file type
To convert TDR Diagrams to another format, you need DesignSoft TINA or other Data software.
Convert a file to TDR
To convert other file formats to the "Simulation Data File" file type, you need software like DesignSoft TINA or a similar tool.
About TDR files
A .TDR file primarily stores circuit analysis diagrams and simulation results generated by DesignSoft TINA. However, the .TDR extension is highly fragmented and notoriously overloaded. It is also used as an HDF5-based TCAD simulation data file by Synopsys Sentaurus, a 3D microscope surface data file in the Leica Application Suite, and even a genealogical chart file by SpanSoft TreeDraw.
This extreme fragmentation makes .TDR files frustrating to handle. They are highly proprietary, heavily dependent on niche desktop software, and completely unreadable in standard web browsers. Sharing a .TDR file with a colleague usually results in an 'unsupported file format' error unless they have the exact same software version installed. For example, a TCAD simulation .TDR requires HDFView or Synopsys tools, while a TINA circuit file only opens in TINA.
To make these files accessible, you must convert them. For sharing schematics, family trees, and 3D surface visualizations, convert to PDF or PNG. For extracting and analyzing tabular simulation results, exporting to CSV or XLSX is essential. Drop your file here to view and convert it securely right in your browser.
Convert.Guru analyzes your TDR file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.
If you want to convert TDR file to , you can use DesignSoft TINA or similar software from the "Circuit Analysis Diagram" category. In the File menu, look for Save As… or Export….

The TDR Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our TDR converter.
