A common frustration is attempting to open them in media players like VLC or Windows Media Player, only to fail because the file contains no actual audio data. It relies entirely on the Omnisphere engine and its core sample library (~60GB) to generate sound. You cannot convert this file directly to MP3 or WAV using a standard file converter.
To "convert" this file to a usable audio format, you must load it into Omnisphere (hosted inside a DAW like FL Studio or Ableton Live) and render the audio output to WAV or AIFF. For archival or inspection purposes, since the underlying format is XML, you can open it with a text editor like Notepad++ or VS Code to view the parameter metadata in plain text.
