About POH files
A .poh file acts primarily as a ProShow Output History file created by Photodex ProShow Gold or ProShow Producer. It contains a log of video slideshows exported by the user. Alternatively, it serves as a firmware boot logo image for ALI Corp Set-Top Box (STB) hardware, functioning as a slightly modified PNG image to display the manufacturer logo during startup. The main disadvantage of the .poh format is its proprietary nature. It is tied to obsolete software, as Photodex closed in 2020, making it hard to read logs on modern machines. The ALI Corp boot logos are similarly restricted, typically embedded inside raw firmware binaries. Users often need to extract or convert these files to readable text like TXT or CSV for history logs, or standard images like PNG or JPG for boot logos. However, standard online converters fail because the format lacks public documentation. Because these files are highly specific to discontinued software or closed-source hardware, direct conversion is challenging.
