Convert POF to another file type
To convert POF Object files to another format, you need Intel Quartus or other Developer software.
Convert a file to POF
To convert other file formats to the "Programmer Object File" file type, you need software like Intel Quartus or a similar tool.
About POF files
The .POF (Programmer Object File) extension is primarily utilized by Intel Quartus Prime (formerly Altera) to program CPLD and FPGA hardware devices. It stores compiled, proprietary binary data that configures the hardware chip's flash memory. Secondarily, the extension frequently functions as a Printer Output File, containing raw Zebra Programming Language (ZPL) instructions designed strictly to trigger Zebra industrial label printers.
The main challenge with .POF files is extreme format fragmentation. Depending on the source, a .POF could be an encrypted Intel FPGA binary, a UTF-8 text script for a shipping printer, a renamed PNG export from XMind software, or an underlying SQLite database used by Practice-Web management systems. Standard online document converters fail entirely because they blindly assume a universal structure, which does not exist for this extension. Attempting to force an FPGA binary into a document format like PDF or DOCX will inevitably result in a corrupted, unreadable file.
Because this extension is shared across highly proprietary and unrelated systems, guessing the correct origin software is frustrating. Conversion targets depend strictly on the internal data. If the file is a Zebra label script, converting the ZPL commands into a viewable PNG or PDF is the logical goal. If it is a Practice-Web database, extracting tables to CSV is ideal. However, if it is a compiled Intel programmer file, conversion to standard formats is physically impossible. Our platform inspects the raw file signature, ignoring the misleading extension. If our analysis detects an underlying SQLite database, a valid PNG image, or plain ZPL text, viewing and conversion may still be successfully executed.
Convert.Guru analyzes your POF file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.
If you want to convert POF file to DWG, DXF, DGN, RVT, RFA, SKP, 3DM, STEP, IGES, SAT, X_T or X_B, you can use Intel Quartus or similar software from the "Hardware Configuration or Printer Output" category. In the File menu, look for Save As… or Export….
To convert SLDASM, DGN, PRT, IAM, X_B, CATPRODUCT, SLDPRT, RVT, ASM, DWG, CATPART or DXF files to POF, try Intel Quartus or another comparable tool in the "Hardware Configuration or Printer Output" category.
The POF Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our POF converter.
