About PLE files

A .PLE file is primarily a Messenger Plus! Live Encrypted Log. These files are historical artifacts from the golden age of Windows Live Messenger (MSN), created by the popular Messenger Plus! extension to secure chat history. Unlike standard text logs, .PLE files are encrypted using a password defined by the user at the time of creation, making them impossible to read in standard editors like Notepad or Word. Users typically encounter these files when recovering old hard drives and seeking to relive past conversations. Because the original software is discontinued and the format is proprietary to the Messenger Plus! add-on, accessing the content requires specific decryption tools or the original Log Viewer utility. A secondary, less common use of the extension is for Paltalk messenger logs.

Convert.Guru analyzes your PLE file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.

Users also converted DOCX, PLSC, NPZ and VPB files.
