Convert PHZ to another file type
To convert your PHZ file to another format, you need Algodoo or other Game software.
Convert a file to PHZ
To convert other file formats to the "Simulation Data Package" file type, you need software like Algodoo or a similar tool.
About PHZ files
A .PHZ file is most frequently a compressed simulation scene used by Algodoo (formerly Phun), a popular 2D physics sandbox. These files act as containers for storing physics experiments, machinery, and interactive scenes. Under the hood, an Algodoo .PHZ is simply a ZIP archive containing a scene.phn code file and associated textures or assets. Users often encounter friction because .PHZ files are not recognized by standard operating systems or web browsers; they require the proprietary Algodoo software to open. This proprietary lock-in makes sharing simulations with non-users difficult. To view or edit the raw data without the software, you can simply rename the extension to ZIP and extract the contents.
Alternatively, if you are working with resin 3D printing, a .PHZ file may be a sliced model format for Phrozen 3D printers (like the Phrozen Shuffle). These files contain the specific layer-by-layer exposure data required by the printer's LCD screen. These are highly specific to the printer hardware and often cannot be converted back into editable 3D meshes like STL or OBJ without specialized reverse-engineering tools. For Phrozen files, the goal is often to validate layers or verify print settings rather than edit geometry.
Convert.Guru analyzes your PHZ file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.
If you want to convert PHZ file to HZ, OBJ, FBX, DAE, 3DS, MAX, BLEND, MA, MB, C4D, STL or PLY, you can use Algodoo or similar software from the "Physics Simulation Scene" category. In the File menu, look for Save As… or Export….
To convert DWG, DAE, X3D, IGES, WRL, JT, SKP, 3DS, 3DM, OBJ, STEP or FBX files to PHZ, try Algodoo or another comparable tool in the "Physics Simulation Scene" category.
The PHZ Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our PHZ converter.
