About PHZ files
The .PHZ file format is primarily a compressed physics simulation scene used by Algodoo. A smaller percentage of these files are sliced 3D models specifically generated for Phrozen 3D resin printers. Algodoo, developed by Algoryx Simulation, uses these files to save interactive 2D sandbox environments containing objects, physics scripts, and images. Conversely, the 3D printer variant is generated by slicing software like Chitubox to instruct a 3D printer on how to cure resin layer by layer. The primary disadvantage of the .PHZ format is its highly specialized, proprietary nature. Users often want to convert Algodoo scenes to share them online, or convert Phrozen slices to edit the 3D model. However, an Algodoo file requires a software installation to run, and a Phrozen slice is locked machine code that has permanently destroyed the original 3D geometry. To share an Algodoo scene, your best target format is an MP4 video recorded directly inside the software. For Phrozen files, converting them back to editable STL or OBJ formats is generally impossible. This file format is difficult to open or convert because standard tools lack the specialized logic to interpret physics sandbox parameters or resin printing machine code. Emphasize that often only the original software can properly read or export the data. Because the Algodoo .PHZ is actually an underlying ZIP container, viewing or conversion of the embedded PNG and XML data may still be possible.
