Extract text from Pepakura papercraft files (PDO)

.PDO is the proprietary file format used by Pepakura Designer, a specialized software tool developed by Tama Software. It stores both 3D polygon meshes and their corresponding 2D unfolded papercraft templates. Cosplayers, hobbyists, and educators use these files to turn digital 3D models into physical, printable paper models.
The primary disadvantage of the .PDO format is severe vendor lock-in. You cannot natively open these files on macOS, Linux, or mobile devices. You are forced to download the Windows-only Pepakura Viewer just to look at the layout. Furthermore, you cannot directly send a .PDO file to a commercial print shop or open it in standard image viewers, making sharing and printing highly restrictive.
To overcome these limitations, conversion is the most practical solution. For universal printing and sharing without losing scale, convert .PDO to PDF. If you need to edit the 2D texture and cut-lines in Photoshop, convert to JPG or PNG. If your goal is to extract and modify the underlying 3D geometry in software like Blender, convert it to OBJ.
