About OZIP files
.OZIP files are proprietary firmware update packages used exclusively by OPPO and Realme Android smartphones. While essentially based on the standard ZIP compression structure, these files are often obfuscated or encrypted (typically using AES) to enforce vendor lock-in. This design prevents users from easily inspecting the system contents or installing the update using third-party custom recoveries like TWRP.
The primary friction users encounter with .OZIP files is their incompatibility with standard archiving tools. Attempting to open an encrypted .OZIP in WinRAR or 7-Zip will often result in a "corrupt archive" error or display a meaningless file structure. Furthermore, advanced users looking to root their device or modify the firmware cannot flash these files directly without the official stock recovery environment.
To bypass these restrictions, the most common workflow is converting the .OZIP to a standard, decryptable ZIP archive. For older devices, a simple file rename might suffice, but modern firmware requires decryption tools (like Python-based decryptors) to strip the proprietary headers. Once converted to a standard ZIP, the firmware can be extracted, modified, or flashed via custom tools.
Convert.Guru analyzes your OZIP file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.
If you want to convert OZIP file to ZIP, SYS, DLL, EXE, DRV, VXD, 386, COM, BAT, CMD, SCR or PIF, you can use ColorOS or similar software from the "Android Firmware Update" category. In the File menu, look for Save As… or Export….
To convert MSI, EXE, REG, MST, LNK, CAB, CAT, DRV, INF, SYS, MSU or DLL files to OZIP, try ColorOS or another comparable tool in the "Android Firmware Update" category.
The OZIP Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our OZIP converter.
