To convert NUD models or calendars to another format, you need Smash Forge or other Game software.
To convert other file formats to the "3D Game Model Archive" file type, you need software like Smash Forge or a similar tool.
The .NUD file extension represents two completely unrelated data types: a Namco Universal Dummy 3D model or a Now Up-To-Date Calendar file. In modern contexts, it is primarily encountered as a 3D model format used by Bandai Namco for video games like the Super Smash Bros. series. These files store intricate 3D meshes, vertex data, and skeletal structures, and are typically paired with NUT texture files. Alternatively, a .NUD file might be a legacy calendar database from the defunct Now Software suite.
The main disadvantage of the .NUD format is its deeply proprietary and closed nature. You cannot open a game model .NUD natively in web browsers or standard 3D suites like Blender; it requires niche, community-built modding tools like Smash Forge or Noesis. The legacy calendar files present an even bigger challenge, as the original software requires a vintage operating system to run, and the data is locked inside a proprietary database schema.
To make this data usable, game modders must convert .NUD models into standard formats like DAE (Collada) or FBX to preserve skeletal rigging, or OBJ for static meshes. For legacy calendars, the ultimate goal is exporting to ICS or CSV.
Because .NUD is an undocumented proprietary format, standard online converters fail entirely at parsing its binary structure. We will analyze the hex data and extract any readable strings.
