About NSA files
The .nsa file extension is primarily used as a Noteshelf notebook archive file by the note-taking application Noteshelf, developed by Fluid Touch. Alternatively, it can represent an obsolete Nullsoft Streaming Audio file originally used by Winamp.
The primary disadvantage of the Noteshelf .nsa format is its heavily proprietary nature. It is designed purely as a backup and restore container for the Noteshelf ecosystem. You cannot natively view these files in web browsers, and they require the original paid application to open properly. Users often need to convert these files to standard PDF format to share notes with colleagues or view them on non-supported platforms. Nullsoft audio files face a different problem: they are legacy files that lack support in modern default media players, making conversion to MP3 highly recommended.
This file format is difficult to open or convert online. A Noteshelf .nsa file is actually a standard ZIP archive in disguise, containing proprietary SQLite databases and raw images. Because the layout engine is closed-source, standard document converters fail to reconstruct the pen strokes and text perfectly. Often only the original software can properly read or export the data into a clean document.
Convert.Guru analyzes your NSA file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.
If you want to convert NSA file to MP3, WAV, AAC, FLAC, OGG, WMA, M4A, AIFF, OPUS, ALAC, APE or WV, you can use Noteshelf or similar software from the "Digital Note Backup Archive" category. In the File menu, look for Save As… or Export….
To convert MIDI, AAC, TTA, AU, WV, DTS, MID, FLAC, RA, MP3, PCM or WAV files to NSA, try Noteshelf or another comparable tool in the "Digital Note Backup Archive" category.
The NSA Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our NSA converter.
