About NMO files

An .NMO file is a proprietary 3D asset container used by the Virtools engine (historically Nemo Studio), which powers various legacy PC and console games developed by companies like Neko Entertainment. These binary files function as archives that lock away game resources - including 3D geometry (meshes), textures, animations, and behavioral scripts - inside a compiled "Nemo Object" format. Because the format is optimized for the Virtools Player runtime rather than editing, standard 3D software like Blender or Autodesk Maya cannot natively open or import them. Users typically encounter these files when attempting to mod games or rip models for archival purposes. To use these assets, you must first extract the internal components using specialized community tools (such as nmotools) and convert the geometry to interchange formats like OBJ (for static meshes) or FBX (for rigged characters).

Convert.Guru analyzes your NMO file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.

Users also converted XAC, PLY and PMC files.
