About NJB files

The .njb file is an XML-based transfer log created by Nikon Transfer software when copying images from a Nikon Coolpix camera to a computer. It serves as an index to track which photos were successfully imported, preventing duplicate transfers in future sessions. Users frequently encounter this file alongside their standard JPG or NEF images and mistakenly believe it is a proprietary photograph format.

The main disadvantage of the .njb format is that it causes confusion. It contains absolutely no pixel or photographic data, meaning it is useless for photo editing and requires no specialized image viewing software. Because it is a proprietary tracking file, standard image viewers will fail to open it, causing error messages and frustration. Standard online image converters will also fail to process it because there is no image to convert.

Since it is technically a text document, the best target formats are standard text (TXT) or document formats (PDF) if you need a permanent record of your transfer history. Converting to JPG or PNG is impossible.

Convert.Guru analyzes your NJB file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.

Users also converted MRK, DSC, SPV, PDF, NEF, NRW and JPG files.
