About NDB files
The .ndb file extension is a highly fragmented format used by dozens of unrelated applications. Most commonly, it functions as a proprietary database file for biometric access control systems like ZKTeco, service portals like Caterpillar SIS, or legacy Microsoft Jet database engines. Alternatively, it is used as a binary drawing file by Nevron Diagram (now MyDraw). Other edge cases include Noteshelf backup archives, aviation navigation data, and compiled scripts for games like Neverwinter Nights. Because the extension simply stands for Network Database or Nevron Database, there is no single program that opens all of them. This creates massive headaches for users. A biometric database cannot be read by diagram software, and a standard SQLite-based .ndb file will appear corrupted if opened as a plain text file. Many of these files are proprietary, completely undocumented, or tied to expensive enterprise software, making raw data extraction nearly impossible without the exact parent application. To bypass these locks, you must convert the file based on its actual internal structure. For database-driven .ndb files, convert to CSV or SQL to extract raw tables for analysis. If the file is a Nevron Diagram, convert it to PDF for archiving, or SVG and VSDX for editing in other vector tools.
