Conversely, a MyPaint brush preset is a structured JSON file used by the open-source graphics program MyPaint to define brush strokes, opacity, and dynamic behaviors. Additionally, a smaller subset of .myb files act as GZIP compressed backup archives for the Moya Content Management System.
The primary disadvantage of the .myb format is its proprietary binding and ambiguity. Mylio bundles are engineered specifically for the Mylio ecosystem, forcing users to rely on their software to neatly browse unified galleries. Similarly, MyPaint brush presets are locked to their own rendering engine and are useless if you attempt to load them into industry-standard design tools like Adobe Photoshop. These files are not supported natively by standard web browsers or operating system image viewers.
