About MQP files

The .MQP extension usually represents one of two highly specific, incompatible formats: a medical system update package for mMedica or a financial quote layout for MetaStock.

For medical users, this file is a proprietary container used to patch the mMedica database. The primary difficulty is that these files often exceed 100MB and are binary-locked; you cannot simply double-click them to view the update logs or contents without the host application running. For financial traders, the .MQP (Money Quote Pro) file stores stock watchlists and layout configurations. Traders frequently run into issues when migrating to modern platforms like TradingView or Excel, as the data is trapped in a legacy vendor format that does not natively export to CSV or XLSX.

Practical Conversion Advice:

Convert.Guru analyzes your MQP file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.

The MQP Converter Story

The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our MQP converter.
