About MC4 files
The .mc4 file extension is primarily used for PlayStation 4 game saves, game package chunks, and cheat files. These files store game progress, unlocked items, or specific modifications applied via cheat systems like Save Wizard for PS4 MAX. Because they are built for the closed PlayStation 4 ecosystem, they are highly proprietary and heavily encrypted. Users typically want to convert or modify .mc4 files to edit their in-game stats, share save files with friends, or extract game assets. However, a major disadvantage of the current format is that it is strictly tied to a unique PlayStation Network (PSN) account ID. You cannot simply download an .mc4 file and load it onto a different console without specialized intervention.
