Extract text from MAM files
To convert your MAM file to another format, you need KUKA.SystemSoftware or other Settings software.
To convert other file formats to the "Robotics Calibration Data" file type, you need software like KUKA.SystemSoftware or a similar tool.
The .MAM extension is primarily associated with KUKA Robotics as a Machine Axis Map file. These files serve as critical configuration binaries or structured text documents residing within KUKA Robot Controllers (KRC), specifically mapping logical robot axes to physical motor drives.
The Problem: For engineers and integrators, the main friction point is accessibility. These files are generated on the factory floor and are often proprietary or obfuscated, making them unreadable on standard office PCs without installing heavy, licensed environments like KUKA.WorkVisual or KUKA.Sim. You cannot simply double-click them to audit calibration data or verify axis limits.
The Solution: For documentation and troubleshooting, the most practical conversion is to TXT (Plain Text) or XML. This allows you to parse the axis mapping data, view variable offsets, and archive the configuration in a human-readable format.
Secondary Use Case: In legacy enterprise environments, a .MAM file may be a Microsoft Access Macro Shortcut. These are essentially specialized pointers used to launch Microsoft Access and immediately execute a specific macro. These files are virtually obsolete; converting them usually involves opening them in a text editor to identify the target database and macro name, as they cannot be "converted" into modern database formats directly.
