About LMR files

The .LMR file extension primarily represents a LoadMaster report file utilized by logistics systems from McLeod Software, though it also functions as an organ music sequence file for Lowry Organs or an Austrian civil registration data file (ZMR). LoadMaster software heavily relies on this format to bundle logistics reports, whereas the Lowry Organ Company uses it to store proprietary musical playback sequences. Users frequently need to convert .LMR files because the custom extension causes confusion and prevents default operating system tools from opening them. The proprietary nature of the organ sequences locks musicians into using a specific Lowry Organs LMR Player, and the Austrian registration files require specialized government database software to read. The best conversion target for McLeod LoadMaster files is ZIP, as these files are essentially standard compressed archives in disguise; extracting them often yields accessible PDF, CSV, or XML documents. For organ sequences, converting to MID (MIDI) is ideal but technically difficult. These proprietary formats are notoriously difficult for standard online converters to process since they lack public specifications. Often, only the original software can properly read or export the data. However, just drag and drop your file to identify the format, view it, and convert it when possible. convert.guru can still identify the file format, inspect the file, and show text or internal content. If our analysis detects a supported underlying or embedded format, like a disguised ZIP archive, viewing or conversion may still be possible.

Convert.Guru analyzes your LMR file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.

Users also converted AZX, CAB and A3 files.

The LMR Converter Story

The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our LMR converter.
