Convert LCD to another file type
To convert your LCD file to another format, you need Shimadzu LabSolutions or other Data software.
Convert a file to LCD
To convert other file formats to the "LC-MS Raw Data" file type, you need software like Shimadzu LabSolutions or a similar tool.
About LCD files
The .LCD file extension typically refers to two distinct but common formats: Shimadzu LabSolutions raw data files and CDSpace disc images.
1. Shimadzu LC-MS Raw Data (Scientific)
Files with this extension are most often proprietary data containers generated by Shimadzu liquid chromatography (LC) and mass spectrometry (MS) instruments. These Microsoft Compound-based files store chromatograms, spectra, and method parameters. Because they are strictly tied to the LabSolutions software ecosystem, researchers often struggle to analyze this data in third-party tools like Excel, Python, or Matlab. To process this data outside the lab, users must convert .LCD files to open standards like CSV (for spreadsheets), .mzML, or .mzXML (for bioinformatics).
2. CDSpace Disc Image (Archiving)
Less commonly, an .LCD file is a virtual disc image created by CDSpace, an older emulation tool similar to Daemon Tools. These files represent a digital copy of a CD or DVD. Modern operating systems like Windows 10 and 11 do not natively support mounting .LCD images. To access the files inside (often old games or software archives), users need to convert the .LCD file to the industry-standard ISO format, which can be mounted natively by Windows or macOS.
Other Uses
ABBYY FineReader: Stores language and dictionary data for OCR processing.
LiteCAD: A vector drawing format used by lightweight CAD applications.
Convert.Guru analyzes your LCD file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.
If you want to convert LCD file to TV, ISO, IMG, DMG, VHD, VMDK, VDI, HDD, QCOW, QCOW2, RAW or VBOX, you can use Shimadzu LabSolutions or similar software from the "Scientific Instrument Data" category. In the File menu, look for Save As… or Export….
To convert VFD, DMG, OVA, IMA, VBOX, ADF, PVS, VHD, OVF, ISO, DSK or IMG files to LCD, try Shimadzu LabSolutions or another comparable tool in the "Scientific Instrument Data" category.
The LCD Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our LCD converter.
