About LBI files

An .LBI file is a Dreamweaver Library Item, a proprietary fragment of HTML code used by Adobe Dreamweaver to manage repeating page elements like headers, footers, or navigation menus. While efficient for static site management in the early 2000s, this format creates a significant dependency: the file relies entirely on the Dreamweaver environment to propagate updates to other pages. Outside of this software, an .LBI file is essentially an orphan text file containing HTML markup wrapped in specific comments (e.g., <!-- #BeginLibraryItem -->). It is not a standalone web page and often lacks the necessary <html> or <body> tags to render correctly in a browser. Users frequently convert these files to standard HTML or TXT to migrate legacy websites to modern editors like VS Code or to strip out the Adobe-specific comment tags for cleaner code usage.

Convert.Guru analyzes your LBI file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.

Users also converted HSE, MXI and FT8 files.
