About LB files
A .LB file is predominantly a Unity game asset bundle utilizing the UnityFS file format. Game developers use these archives to securely package large collections of 3D models, textures, animations, and sound effects for distribution within games built on the Unity game engine. In other, less common scenarios, a .LB file can function as a UTF-8 text-based label template for ZebraDesigner Pro, a design file for CHEXLabel, or a LaTeX project build database.
The primary disadvantage of a Unity .LB file is that it is a closed, proprietary archive format. These files are strictly bound to specific versions of the Unity engine, and they are completely unreadable by standard media players or web browsers. Standard online converters fail to process .LB files because they lack the highly specialized decryption and decompression algorithms required to unpack the UnityFS format. Without dedicated, reverse-engineered extraction software, you cannot view or manipulate the internal game assets.
If you need to access the data, your goal is extraction rather than traditional conversion. The best target formats are standard media files: OBJ or FBX for 3D meshes, PNG for textures, and WAV or MP3 for audio clips. Be aware that extracting these assets will generally strip away their associated game logic, scripts, and material shader settings.
Because this file format is heavily encrypted and difficult to open or convert, often only the original software can properly read or export the data. If our analysis detects a supported underlying or embedded format - like a plain text label template - viewing or conversion may still be possible.
Convert.Guru analyzes your LB file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.
If you want to convert LB file to G, N, JPG, PDF, PNG, GIF, BMP, TIFF, TIF, WEBP, ICO or CUR, you can use Unity or similar software from the "Game Asset Package Archive" category. In the File menu, look for Save As… or Export….
To convert RAW, PNG, AI, NEF, PSB, DNG, SVG, GIF, EPS, JPG, ARW or PDF files to LB, try Unity or another comparable tool in the "Game Asset Package Archive" category.
The LB Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our LB converter.
