The .LASSO file extension represents a dynamic web page written for the Lasso application server. These files contain a mix of standard HTML markup and proprietary LassoScript code used to connect web interfaces to backend databases (most traditionally FileMaker Pro or MySQL). When a user requests a .LASSO URL, the server executes the script to generate and serve the frontend web content dynamically.
You can open, inspect, and edit .LASSO files using any standard code editor like Notepad++ or Visual Studio Code. However, to actually run the code and render the functional webpage, you must have the proprietary LassoSoft server environment installed and configured.
