Convert a file to JTP
To convert other file formats to the "Note Template" file type, you need software like MetaMoJi Note or a similar tool.
About JTP files
The .jtp file extension serves two distinct roles in digital note-taking. It is primarily a Note-taking application template used by MetaMoJi Note (formerly known as Note Anytime), a cross-platform tool for sketching and annotation. These files store layout settings, background styles, and default structures for new notes.
However, many users encounter .jtp files as legacy Windows Journal Templates. Microsoft Windows Journal was a utility included in older versions of Windows (XP Tablet PC Edition through Windows 7) but was discontinued and removed from Windows 10/11 due to security vulnerabilities.
The Problem: Because Windows Journal is no longer supported and MetaMoJi Note uses a proprietary format, opening these files on modern systems is difficult. You typically cannot view them in standard web browsers or edit them in Microsoft Word.
The Solution:
For Archiving & Sharing: Convert .jtp to PDF. This ensures the visual layout of the note or template is preserved and can be opened on any device.
For Quick Reference: Convert to JPG or PNG if you simply need to view the background or template design as an image.
Convert.Guru analyzes your JTP file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.
If you want to convert JTP file to INDD, QXP, PUB, PMD, PM6, PM7, PM8, PM9, PM10, PM11, OMP or P65, you can use MetaMoJi Note or similar software from the "Note-taking Application Template" category. In the File menu, look for Save As… or Export….
To convert MDI, PUB, PDP, PM4, P65, COMIC, WEBTEMPLATE, PMD, SPUB, INDD, PM5 or QXP files to JTP, try MetaMoJi Note or another comparable tool in the "Note-taking Application Template" category.
The JTP Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our JTP converter.
