About JRXML files
A .JRXML file is a report design template written in Extensible Markup Language (XML), primarily created for the JasperReports Library and designed using TIBCO Jaspersoft Studio. These files function as blueprints, defining the visual layout, data queries, and formatting rules for business reports, but they do not contain the final report data itself. Because .JRXML files are raw source code, they cannot be opened as viewable documents in standard office software like Microsoft Word or Excel, and manual editing in a text editor is prone to syntax errors. To make the report useful for end-users, the file must be compiled into a JASPER file and filled with data. For distribution and viewing, the standard workflow is to convert (render) these designs into PDF for printing, HTML for web integration, or XLSX/CSV for data analysis.
