About ITR files
The .ITR file is an Icy Tower Replay file created by Icy Tower, a popular 2D platform game originally published by Muskedunder Interactive. This format stores recorded gameplay sessions so players can review their high scores and speedruns. However, the .ITR format has severe disadvantages in the modern web. It is a closed, proprietary data format and is not a video file. Instead of storing video pixels, it only stores a log of player keystrokes, coordinates, and timestamps. This means the file requires the exact version of the original game engine to recreate the run. You cannot open an .ITR file in a standard media player, and it is impossible to upload it directly to a video streaming platform. Most standard online converters fail to process .ITR files because they cannot run the proprietary game engine required to render the graphics. Users typically want to convert .ITR to standard video formats like MP4 or AVI. Because direct conversion is technically impossible, the only realistic workaround is to play the replay inside the game and record the screen using capture software. This file format is exceedingly difficult to open or convert externally, and often only the original software can properly read or export the data. If our analysis detects a supported underlying or embedded format, viewing or conversion may still be possible.
Convert.Guru analyzes your ITR file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.

The ITR Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our ITR converter.
