About IF files

The .if extension represents several distinct and unrelated file formats. Primarily, it functions as an Indic calligraphy project file created by Indic Fonts IF Studio. In this context, it stores typography and vector-based calligraphy layouts using a plain-text JSON structure. Alternatively, it is used as a scanned document image file generated by InfoWeave document management systems. In the InfoWeave ecosystem, the .if file is essentially a container or wrapper for standard TIFF image data. Finally, it can appear as a game launcher configuration file for the NEXON game launcher, or a project file for the engineering software Procedimientos-Uno IFWin.

The main disadvantage of the .if format is its extreme ambiguity. Operating systems and standard applications do not know how to handle it natively. If you receive an InfoWeave .if document, standard image viewers will fail to open it, causing workflow delays. If it is an IF Studio project, the raw JSON text is unreadable without the proprietary typography engine. Users often need to convert InfoWeave documents to standard PDF or JPG formats to share them across modern devices.

Standard online converters usually fail to process .if files because they cannot differentiate between a JSON project file, a TIFF image wrapper, and a game configuration file. Just drag and drop your file onto convert.guru to identify the format, view its internal structure, and convert it when possible. If our analysis detects the underlying TIFF or JSON data, we can help you extract or convert the contents securely.

Convert.Guru analyzes your IF file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.

Users also converted IF2, ZIP, MP4, TXT, GI, BAC and 113 files.
