An .IBP file is an IsoBuster Managed Image Information file, used exclusively by Smart Projects IsoBuster. Crucially, the .IBP file is not the disk image itself; it is a lightweight control file (often only a few KB) that maps the structure and recovery status of a much larger, paired IBQ file containing the actual binary data.

A common issue for users is finding that .IBP files cannot be mounted in standard virtual drives or burned directly by software like Nero Burning ROM.
