.HWT files are custom themes and watch faces used by Huawei smartphones running EMUI and smartwatches running LiteOS or HarmonyOS. These files store graphical elements, layout instructions, and configuration settings that dictate the appearance of the device interface. They are officially created and managed using the Huawei Watch Face Theme Editor.
The main disadvantage of the .HWT format is its strict proprietary ecosystem lock-in. You cannot natively apply these themes to non-Huawei devices like an Apple Watch or a WearOS smartwatch. Furthermore, editing them requires specialized, heavy developer tools. Sharing them directly often leads to compatibility errors if the target device runs a different EMUI version or features a different screen resolution.
