Convert HSC to another file type
To convert your HSC file to another format, you need Aspen HYSYS or other Data software.
Convert a file to HSC
To convert other file formats to the "Simulation Case File" file type, you need software like Aspen HYSYS or a similar tool.
About HSC files
An .HSC file is most frequently an Aspen HYSYS Simulation Case file, the industry-standard format for modeling oil, gas, and chemical refining processes. These files contain complex mathematical models, thermodynamic data, and flowsheets used by engineers to predict process behavior.
Because .HSC files are highly specialized binary containers generated by Aspen HYSYS, they present significant accessibility challenges. They are proprietary, meaning they cannot be opened or viewed without a costly, active license for the AspenONE suite. Furthermore, compatibility is strict; an .HSC file saved in a newer version of HYSYS (e.g., V12) often fails to open in older versions, and migrating legacy .HSC files to the modern HYS or XML format can result in data validation errors.
For documentation and archiving, the best conversion target is PDF. This freezes the simulation report, allowing stakeholders to view stream results and heat/mass balance data without the software. For data manipulation, users frequently need to convert the internal tables to Excel (.XLSX) or CSV to perform external calculations.
Note: If your file is not related to engineering, it is likely a game data archive for Dragonica (Dragon Saga) or a screen design file for Kinco HMIware. In the case of Dragonica, the file is often a disguised ZIP archive containing character textures and item data.
Convert.Guru analyzes your HSC file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.
If you want to convert HSC file to XML, DWG, DXF, DGN, RVT, RFA, SKP, 3DM, STEP, IGES, SAT or X_T, you can use Aspen HYSYS or similar software from the "Process Simulation Modeling" category. In the File menu, look for Save As… or Export….
To convert SLDASM, DGN, PRT, IAM, X_B, CATPRODUCT, SLDPRT, RVT, ASM, DWG, CATPART or DXF files to HSC, try Aspen HYSYS or another comparable tool in the "Process Simulation Modeling" category.
The HSC Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our HSC converter.
