Convert GZP to another file type
To convert GZP Archives to another format, you need Sentaurus TCAD or other Compressed software.
Convert a file to GZP
To convert other file formats to the "Compressed Simulation Data" file type, you need software like Sentaurus TCAD or a similar tool.
About GZP files
The .gzp file extension is primarily associated with Sentaurus TCAD (Technology Computer-Aided Design) software developed by Synopsys. It functions as a compressed project or simulation data file, frequently relying on standard GZIP compression algorithms to store enormous datasets generated during semiconductor modeling. Less commonly, it serves as a compressed game asset file for the classic 2000 PC game Sacrifice by Shiny Entertainment, or as a project backup file for the open-source management tool GanttProject.
Users typically interact with these files within Sentaurus TCAD or GanttProject. The major disadvantage of the .gzp format in the engineering context is its highly specialized, closed ecosystem. It requires an expensive, enterprise-level license for Synopsys software to natively read the proprietary semiconductor models contained within. Furthermore, sharing these massive simulation outputs with external teams who lack the software is virtually impossible without exporting the raw data first. Game asset .gzp files face similar hurdles, locked behind an outdated, undocumented game engine. Standard online converters completely fail to process these files because they cannot parse the proprietary structures nested inside the archives.
If the file is a standard GZIP archive disguised with a .gzp extension, the best approach is to extract or convert it to standard archive formats like ZIP, TAR, or GZ to inspect the internal files. For TCAD data, extracting the raw content and converting it to standard CSV or TXT files is ideal for basic data analysis, though specialized mesh formatting will be lost.
Because .gzp files are deeply proprietary or use undocumented legacy game engines, they are difficult to open or convert outside their native environments. Often, only the original software can properly read or export the structured data. However, just drag and drop your file onto convert.guru to identify the format, view it, and convert it when possible. If our analysis detects a supported underlying or embedded format (such as a standard GZIP stream), viewing the text or extracting the internal content may still be possible.
Convert.Guru analyzes your GZP file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.
If you want to convert GZP file to ZIP, RAR, 7Z, TAR, GZ, BZ2, XZ, LZMA, CAB, ACE, ARJ or LHA, you can use Sentaurus TCAD or similar software from the "TCAD Simulation Data Storage" category. In the File menu, look for Save As… or Export….
To convert XXE, 7Z, Z, PAK, LHA, DEB, UUE, TAR, LZH, ZIP, PKG or RAR files to GZP, try Sentaurus TCAD or another comparable tool in the "TCAD Simulation Data Storage" category.
The GZP Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our GZP converter.
