About GSHEET files

A .gsheet file is technically a JSON-formatted pointer file created by Google Drive for Desktop. Unlike a standard XLSX or ODS file, a .gsheet file does not contain your actual spreadsheet data (cells, formulas, charts). It is simply a tiny text file (often less than 1KB) containing a URL and a resource ID that directs the Google Drive client to open the document in your web browser.

This architecture is a common source of problems for users trying to back up data or share files offline. Because the file is just a link, you cannot attach it to an email and expect a non-Google user to open it, nor can you import it directly into Microsoft Excel or LibreOffice Calc without first exporting it. To make this data usable outside the Google ecosystem, you must convert the referenced data. The industry standard is to convert to XLSX for continued editing in Excel, CSV for database ingestion, or PDF for archiving and printing.

Convert.Guru analyzes your GSHEET file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.

Users also converted GSH, XLSX, GDOC, PDF, GS, XLS, CSV, P7S, ENC, VTT, CRDOWNLOAD and CRX files.
