Convert GPZ to another file type
To convert GPZ Radar files to another format, you need GPR-SLICE or other GIS software.
Convert a file to GPZ
To convert other file formats to the "Geophysical Radar Data" file type, you need software like GPR-SLICE or a similar tool.
About GPZ files
A .GPZ file typically functions as a Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) Data file used by specialized geophysical software like GPR-SLICE or GreenValley LiDAR360. Under the hood, many of these are generic ZIP archives containing structured data. The extension is also used for CD/DVD authoring project files by GEAR Software and for encrypted training projects by SAP Enable Now.
These files are notoriously difficult to work with. GPR data is a highly proprietary, closed format that holds complex radar wave reflections and geospatial metadata. It requires scientific software costing thousands of dollars to open. The SAP and GEAR variants are either encrypted or act as project pointers, meaning they hold no media themselves and are useless outside their original environment.
Standard online converters fail to process .GPZ files because the internal structure is proprietary, encrypted, or highly specialized. Often, only the original software can properly read or export the radar data. If you have a radar file, the best conversion targets are standard CSV (comma-separated values) for tabular data or SGY (SEG-Y) for geophysical software interoperability. If the file is just a renamed archive, you can target ZIP to access the raw contents. If our analysis detects a supported underlying or embedded format, viewing or conversion may still be possible.
Convert.Guru analyzes your GPZ file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.
If you want to convert GPZ file to CSV, JSON, XML, YAML, YML, TOML, INI, CFG, CONF, DAT, DB or SQL, you can use GPR-SLICE or similar software from the "GPR Data Archive" category. In the File menu, look for Save As… or Export….
To convert DBF, XML, SQLITE, XLSX, SQL, TSV, ACCDB, YAML, MDB, CSV, ODS or JSON files to GPZ, try GPR-SLICE or another comparable tool in the "GPR Data Archive" category.
The GPZ Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our GPZ converter.
