The .GLF file extension is most commonly a trace log or application crash log. It is heavily utilized by enterprise platforms like SAP BusinessObjects and Gurock SmartInspect to record server events, system faults, or application diagnostics. Other applications, such as Xactimate Desktop and Gendan vehicle diagnostics, also use the .GLF format to store error tracking and operational data.
These files are notoriously frustrating to handle. They are often proprietary, unstructured, or uniquely encoded, meaning you cannot easily read them without expensive, specialized software suites. Some .GLF files can grow to massive sizes, exceeding several gigabytes, which causes standard text editors to freeze or crash instantly.
