About FPJ files

The .FPJ file primarily functions as an Adobe RoboHelp Project file or an Artemis XAS Data Analysis Project file. It is also used occasionally as a CryENGINE Facial Editor Project file. In Adobe RoboHelp, this file acts as the central XML-based control document that binds HTML topics, media, and stylesheets together into a unified help system. In Artemis, it operates as a compressed ZIP workspace containing scientific X-ray absorption spectroscopy datasets.

Users typically attempt to convert .FPJ files because they lack the expensive, specialized software required to open them. The main disadvantage of the .FPJ format is its strict proprietary dependency. A standalone .FPJ file from RoboHelp is practically useless without its accompanying folder structure, and it cannot natively be read by standard web browsers or word processors. It simply points to other files rather than storing the readable document text.

The best target formats for an .FPJ project are PDF, HTML, or CHM, depending on your distribution needs. However, converting an .FPJ file directly is highly problematic. Standard online converters fail because the file is merely a pointer or an internal database, not a standard text document.

Because this file format is difficult to open or convert outside its native environment, often only the original software can properly read or export the data. Standard tools simply cannot interpret the project map. However, convert.guru can still identify the file format, inspect the file, and show text or internal content. If our analysis detects the supported underlying XML structure of a RoboHelp file or the embedded ZIP archive of an Artemis project, viewing or partial conversion may still be possible. Just drag and drop your file to identify the format, view it, and convert it when possible.

Convert.Guru analyzes your FPJ file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.

Users also converted JPG, JFIF, PNG, CGA, SETUP and SKELETON files.

The FPJ Converter Story

The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our FPJ converter.
