About FORGE files

.FORGE files are proprietary game data archives used by the Ubisoft Anvil (formerly Scimitar) game engine. They store critical game assets like 3D models, textures, audio tracks, and compiled scripts for massive open-world games like Assassin's Creed and Rainbow Six Siege. Standard tools cannot open them. You generally need specialized community-built extractors like Blacksmith or ForgeTool to unpack the contents. Gamers and modders need to convert these files to modify textures, rip 3D models for external animation, or access the original game soundtrack. The massive disadvantage is that .FORGE is a closed, proprietary, and entirely undocumented format. Files frequently exceed 10GB, use custom engine-specific compression algorithms like LZO or Oodle, and completely lack native support in standard archivers like 7-Zip. The best conversion targets depend entirely on the extracted asset type. Embedded textures typically convert to DDS or PNG, 3D models export to OBJ or FBX, and audio extracts to WAV or OGG. Note that complex relational data, such as bone weights and animation rigging, are often lost or corrupted during 3D model extraction. This file format is exceptionally difficult to open because it acts as a compiled, encrypted vault meant only for the game engine to read quickly at runtime. Standard online converters will fail to process it. If our analysis detects a supported underlying or embedded format, viewing or extraction may still be possible.

Convert.Guru analyzes your FORGE file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.

Users also converted JAR, DATA, MIS, BF and BABY files.
