About FLX files
The .flx extension represents a diverse range of file formats, most notably proprietary documents from the Flexcil note-taking application for iOS and Android. These files act as containers (often based on ZIP architecture) for handwritten notes, annotated PDFs, and voice recordings. The primary issue with Flexcil .flx files is their platform exclusivity; they cannot be natively opened on Windows or macOS without specific backup tools or export steps, effectively locking your study notes or meeting minutes inside a mobile ecosystem. Users often need to convert these to PDF to share them with colleagues, submit assignments, or view them on desktop screens.
Beyond mobile notes, .flx is frequently encountered as a legacy or specialized graphic and engineering format. It serves as a layered bitmap image for the classic Amiga ImageFX software, a project file for Flux.ai electronics design (JSON-based), or a CAD drawing for software like FelixCAD and FastCAD. Opening these older or niche files is difficult due to software obsolescence and version incompatibility. For ImageFX files, converting to modern PNG or TIFF preserves visual fidelity for archiving. For CAD and Flux.ai projects, converting to standard exchange formats like DXF or PDF ensures that schematics and floor plans remain accessible to modern tools like AutoCAD or web browsers.
Convert.Guru analyzes your FLX file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.
If you want to convert FLX file to DWG, DXF, DGN, RVT, RFA, SKP, 3DM, STEP, IGES, SAT, X_T or X_B, you can use Flexcil or similar software from the "Note-Taking & Graphics Storage" category. In the File menu, look for Save As… or Export….
To convert SLDASM, DGN, PRT, IAM, X_B, CATPRODUCT, SLDPRT, RVT, ASM, DWG, CATPART or DXF files to FLX, try Flexcil or another comparable tool in the "Note-Taking & Graphics Storage" category.
The FLX Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our FLX converter.
