About FFF files

The .FFF file extension primarily belongs to two drastically different formats: an XML-based 3D printer settings profile used by Simplify3D, or a proprietary raw image file generated by Hasselblad cameras. It is also used occasionally by FLIR Systems for thermal imaging data. Dealing with .FFF files is difficult because the file extension alone does not identify its internal contents. A Simplify3D .FFF file is technically an XML document storing print parameters like infill density and layer height. Opening it without the right software exposes raw, unformatted code. Conversely, a Hasselblad .FFF file is a raw image based on the TIFF standard but packed with proprietary sensor data. These files are massive - often exceeding 100MB per image - which consumes expensive storage space.
