About FBR files

An .FBR file is most commonly a proprietary screen recording created by FlashBack Screen Recorder (formerly BB FlashBack) by Blueberry Software. These files store raw screen capture data using GZIP compression, often containing separate tracks for video, system audio, microphone input, and metadata like mouse clicks or keystrokes.

While excellent for editing within the source software, .FBR files pose significant challenges for sharing. They are not standard video files; you cannot upload them directly to YouTube, play them in generic media players like VLC, or view them on mobile devices. They act as locked project files that require the specific FlashBack Player to view. To make the content accessible, users must convert the .FBR file to a standard format.

Recommended Conversion Targets:

*Note: A small minority of .FBR files are legacy Flash-based flipbooks created by FlipBuilder. These are essentially ZIP archives containing expired Flash assets.*
