FAZ files primarily function as PCB BoardView archives containing motherboard layout and schematic data, or as Face and Body Animation files used by the 3D modeling software Poser. These files are managed by specialized motherboard repair software like Gigabyte BoardView, while the animation variants historically link to Smith Micro Software. The .FAZ format presents significant challenges. It is highly niche and heavily fragmented. The PCB variants are essentially renamed ZIP files holding proprietary schematic data, making them impossible to view directly in web browsers or standard document readers. The Poser animation files are closed, proprietary 3D formats that require an expensive software subscription or license to open and edit. To make PCB data accessible, you must extract the underlying ZIP archive to access the raw text or CAD files, which you can then convert to PDF or TXT for easier sharing. For Poser files, exporting from the native software to standard 3D formats like OBJ or FBX is usually required. Because this file format is notoriously difficult to open or convert, standard online converters fail to process it. Often only the original software can properly read or export the data.
