About EP2 files

The .ep2 file extension represents a saved label design created by Leitz EasyPrint, a software tool used to design printable inserts for office supplies like lever arch files, folders, and spine labels. These files serve as digital templates, storing text, layout positioning, and images specific to Leitz's pre-cut paper stationery.

Since the desktop version of EasyPrint is legacy software and no longer standard on modern operating systems, users frequently struggle to open old .ep2 files. A significant catch is that .ep2 is a proprietary container, meaning standard image viewers cannot display the content directly. However, the file is technically a ZIP archive containing XML data and assets. For most users, the goal is to convert these designs to PDF to print them on a modern printer without needing the original Leitz software, or to JPG for quick visual reference.
